BUJIN, or Amir Harith bin Mat Kashim was the previous winner of the Piala Seri Endon in Fashion Category in 2012. His talent was rightly appraised when he was awarded the Golden Hand Award by the Prime Minister of Malaysia in 2009. Bujin’s love for batik making art is deeply ingrained in him. He eventually opened a batik gallery in Putrajaya which carries his exclusive batik collection. At the same time, he started Bujin Academy to teach rural folks especially the young, the art of batik. As a result, his students managed to reach the final stage of Piala Seri Endon in 2013, 2014 and 3 teams as semi finalists in 2015. Most recently in Piala Seri Endon 2016, teams from Bujins Academy have won the 1st prize in handicraft, 2nd place in soft furnishing and 3rd place in fashion category. It was the best achievement for any Batik academy in PSE so far. They also won the Inaugural Kelantan Batik Challenge in 2016.
